Prime Minister Narendra Modi has accused Congress of working to destroy the nation.

Accusing Congress of being completely communal and casteist, Modi said that all that the party does is to divide the Hindus and work towards destroying India.

Speaking a day after the results of assembly elections in Haryana and Jammu and Kashmir, Modi said Congress keeps coming up with new narratives to divide the nation. In an apparent swipe at the party’s push for a caste census and hike in caste-based reservations, Modi said the party only talks about the caste of Hindus but never of Muslims.

Modi said, “Congress leaders don’t talk about caste of Muslims. They turn quiet when the question of castes among Muslims comes, but when it comes to Hindus, Congress only starts the conversation with caste.”

Modi further charged the Congress with making one Hindu caste fight with another. He said that the party does so as it knows that the more Hindus are divided, the more benefit the party gets.

“By any means, Congress is committed to divide the Hindus. It wants to keep the society ablaze to score political points…Breaking up the Hindu society is the formula of Congress party’s politics,” said Modi.

Invoking history, Modi said that Mahatma Gandhi perhaps knew of Congress’ designs and that’s why he wanted the party to disband after Independence.

“Gandhi Ji understood that Congress would become the greatest factory of hatred, so he said the Congress should disband. While Congress was never disbanded, it is now committed to destroy the nation,” said Modi.
