Abhishek Sharma is the Player of the Match for his explosive 75 off 37 deliveries which contained six fours and five sixes

The southpaw was looking set to bring up his third T20I century when his innings was cut short in the 70s for the second consecutive time, thanks to a superb piece of fielding by Rishad Hossain at backward point.

Abhishek struck at 202.7 today, and he’s the leading run-scorer in the ongoing tournament by a fair distance, with 248 runs in five outings at an average and strike rate of 49.60 and 206.67 respectively.

India remain unbeaten despite looking scratchy for the second consecutive game!

Just like the Super 4s match against Pakistan, India lose wickets in a heap after a strong opening partnership, giving the impression that the Men in Blue is a top-heavy side with a question mark on their middle order where an early wicket or two could put them under serious pressure in the final.

The only difference between the two games is that the bowlers looked a lot more lethal today, with Kuldeep Yadav weaving a web around the opposition batters once again and Jasprit Bumrah back among the wickets after getting smashed for 45 runs by the Pakistani batters in the previous game.

Shivam Dube introduced for the first time in the penultimate over

After getting dismissed for 2 following his promotion to No 3 and dropping a catch after confusion with Pandya, Dube concedes 10 in his only over of the evening, which includes a boundary to Mustafizur in the penultimate delivery as the tail-ender heaves the ball towards cow corner. Back-to-back wickets for Kuldeep as India close in on another big victory!

Saif has been reduced to a helpless spectator at one end as Rishad Hossain and Tanzim Hasan Sakib depart in successive deliveries, with Bangladesh losing their eighth wicket with more than 50 runs left to be scored. Rishad gets a thick top-edge that results in a simple catch for Tilak at deep midwicket while Kuldeep finds himself on a hat-trick after castling Tanzim for a golden duck, foxing the tail-ender with a googly. Nasum Ahmed walks in next and negotiates the hat-trick ball with a single.

DROPPED! Another catch put down, this time by Abhishek at deep backward square leg after Saif attempts to sweep Kuldeep behind square. Kuldeep signs off with outstanding figures of 3/18 as Bangladesh are reduced to 115/8; needing 54 more to win off 18!

OUT! Tilak latches on to the ball at long on as Saifuddin departs for 4!

This right after a catch is put down at deep midwicket after confusion between converging fielders Hardik Pandya and Shivam Dube, which gives Saif Hassan a second reprieve in this match. Saifuddin attempts to smash the next ball down the ground, but fails to clear the boundary rope, finding the fielder as a result. Kuldeep had built pressure by conceding just six runs in the previous over, and Varun capitalised on it. BAN 112/6 after 16; need 57 to win off 24

After his match-winning 61 against Sri Lanka, Saif brings up his second consecutive half-century in 36 deliveries, bringing up the milestone with a mighty hit down the ground off Axar. He targets the left-arm spinner again two balls later, once again clearing the straight boundary. Much-needed over for the Bangla Tigers with 15 coming off it as Axar signs off with 1/37. Jaker responds to Saif’s call for a risky, non-existent single, just to complete his half-century. Jaker, however, is caught well short of the striker’s end despite putting in a slide. After an expensive 13-run first over, Varun’s under further pressure after Saif Hassan smashes the ball over his head for another six. Shamim makes room, looking to steer the ball towards the off side, but takes a big risk by exposing the stumps. And sure enough, the wily leg-spinner beats his blade to hit timber! BAN 75/4 after 11; need 94 off 66

Axar strikes at the stroke of the mid-innings drinks interval as Hridoy holes out to Abhishek at wide long on while attempting to smash the ball out of the park. Saif had struck Axar for a six earlier in the over, clearing long on comfortably, and Hridoy was looking to build further pressure on the Men in Blue with another maximum while keeping the asking rate in check. Jasprit Bumrah nearly gets a second wicket in as many overs!

Bumrah appeals for LBW after an inswinging full toss hits Emon’s pad on the full, with umpire Ahmad Shah Pakteen shaking his head. Not much support from his teammates in the appeal, but Surya signals for the review in the end. While the ball is hitting the base of the leg stump, what saves Emon is the fact that ‘Impact’ is ‘Umpire’s Call’. Excellent second over from Bumrah after he concedes five wides in his first in addition to getting rid of Tanzid, with just three coming off his second. BAN 22/1 after 4; need 147 off 96

FOUR! Streaky boundary – the first of Bangladesh's chase, and it comes off Saif Hassan's bat

Saif swings his bat at an out-swinger from Hardik at the start of the all-rounder’s second over, and gets a thick outside edge that carries the ball towards the vacant third man fence. He nearly perishes in the following delivery, mistiming the ball that nearly results in a catch near mid off.
