England vs West Indies LIVE Score, T20 World Cup: England West Indies clash in their second matches at the ongoing T20 World Cup with both sides looking for their second win of the tournament on Wednesday, February 11 at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
England were almost shocked by Nepal in their first match of the tournament before Sam Curran bowled a fantastic final over to help the English side win by five runs . West Indies too were troubled in patches by Scotland in their campaign opener but a five-wicket haul from Romario Shepherd helped them win the game and secure two points.
Rematch of 2016 T20 World Cup final
One of the classic T20 encounters between England West Indies is the 2016 T20 World Cup final, which is still considered one of the best title clashes in the history of this tournament. Carlos Braithwaite hit Ben Stokes for four consecutive sixes in the final over to help West Indies become the first side to win the T20 World Cup twice. England in 2022 also joined West Indies to get their second T20 World title. However, not many members from that 2016 clash at the Eden Gardens are left in both sides.
The then West Indies captain Darren Sammy is now the coach and would want to cheer up his players in what is going to be a highly crucial game in Group C. Johnson Charles and Jason Holder are the only two remaining members from the squad that won the 2016 title. England too only have Jos Buttler and Adil Rashid remaining from that fateful night. All four would have a role to play if they want their teams to win in Mumbai.
The winner tonight will most probably win the group as well so a big game coming up.
