Priyanka has proved it yet again that she isn’t just part of the spectacle she is the spectacle. 10-years after her western breakout TV show Quantico, its a delight to see Priyanka Chopra in full action. In ‘The Bluff’, she stands tall as Ercell, a mother with a dark past as the feared pirate Bloody Mary. She moved from her dark past only to lead a peaceful life because she believes real pirates are murderers, not heroes.
In action films, we have often seen the male force dominating the scene, but it is very different this time because we have Priyanka Chopra hogging all the limelight with her swift sword swinging moves and nobody, absolutely nobody can match up to her power. She has always taken up her job with a lot of dedication and she never fails at it. Her emotions as a mother of a young boy adds layers to it.

And most importantly, it’s not just about action, ‘The Bluff’ is an emotional drama and Bloody Mary (Priyanka Chopra) believes that humanity comes first and is the most important thing in anybody’s life. Just when Mary settles down for a peaceful life, her brutal past turns her life up-side down. But she is unapologetically powerful even as a mother when she says to her son with disability, ‘I will do anything in my power to protect you’. She will do anything to keep her son safe. Priyanka plays the role of a 19th-century pirate and a mother with absolute finesse and honesty.

There is a lot to learn from the character of ‘The Bluff, the way she refuses to break under the stress of life’s misfortune. She doesn’t fall in despair, but fight’s back like a true hero.
