England vs West Indies Highlights, T20 World Cup: WI beat ENG by 30 runs at Wankhede

Shamar Joseph bowls two dot balls to start the over and on the third ball Sam Curran mistimes the ball down the ground and runs for two. Dawson is late to reach at the non-striker’s end and is run out.

Sam Curran was not getting boundaries for some time now but this time Jason Holder misses his yorker and Curran launches the ball deep into the stands behind long-off. He is England’s hope here.

Jason Holder bowls a yorker and Jofra Archer doesn’t get a bat on it and rather gets hit on pads. Sam Curran runs for a single. Archer is lazy to run and Holder picks up the ball from near the striker’s end and hits the stumps to get a brilliant run out.

Shamar Joseph goes for six yorkers in this over and he misses some of them but only gets punishes once. Just 9 off the over and the pressure is now on Sam Curran to hit some big shots.

Akeal Hosein finishes his spell with a wicket. On the last ball of the over Jamie Overton wants to hit a six and he almost clears the long-off fence but Rovman Powell takes a brilliant catch juggling the ball at the boundary.

A big appeal for lbw and the umpire gives Will Jacks out. Roston Chase has his second wicket of the night and the new batter Jacks is gone for 2. He does take a review but it is plumb and the ball is hitting the middle of middle stump.

Sam Curran hit Gudakesh Motie for a six to put him under pressure but the spinner bounces back with a caught and bowled wicket of England captain Harry Brook. Good time to strike and Motie gets his third scalp of the night.

Adil Rashid is bowling really slow and batters can just not impart enough power on the ball. The fifth ball of the over sees Sherfane Rutherford skying the ball and Rashid wants to take the catch but drops it. But overall another good over from Rashid. His four overs concede just 16 and he takes two wickets.

Jason Holder lofts the ball over mid-off to get a six. Beautiful shot for him and then on the next ball he pulls it straight to get another maximum.

Sherfane Rutherford gets to his fifty in 29 balls. Jamie Overton comes into the attack and starts with a short ball which take the top edge and flies for a four. The second ball, Overton goes slow but Rutherford reads it sends it over deep square leg for a maximum to bring his half-century.

Rovman Powell tries to launch Adil Rashid down the ground but does not get the timing right and he caught. Second wicekt for Adil Rashid who is bowling really, really well.

Sherfane Rutherford and Rovman Powell have suddenly upped the ante and England bowlers are struggling here. This partnership is now 49 off 27. This over has gone for 12 already with a four and a six.

Jofra Archer’s ball takes Sherfane Rutherford’s outside edge and just flies towards the third man fence where Adil Rashid does his best to save a six but his attempt fails.

Will Jacks bowls it full and gets hit over his head for a six and then he goes short and Rutherford sends the ball miles deep into the stands. Big shots kick the run rate up for West Indies.

Roston Chase does not read the googly and is hit on his pads right in front of the stumps. Adil Rashid takes the wicket and Chase is gone for 34 off 29. West Indies in trouble.

Roston Chase gets low and paddle sweeps Liam Dawson for a boundary just from the left side of the wicket-keeper. West Indies have taken a measured approach right now. Do they need to go big considering their bowling is not as strong? It seems so. The pitch is looking good for batting so far. So, West Indies need a few big overs here.

Jamie Overton has been finally hit for a boundary and this is the first boundary for West Indies after 16 deliveries. Roston Chase swings the bat hard and finds the gap towards deep square leg.

Shimron Hetmyer mistimed the last ball which was slow from Sam Curran and this time he seemed like he was waiting for it. Slow, full from Curran and the left-hander launches the slog sweep into the stands.

The next ball is towards the pads and flicked away for four. Hetmyer is finding his touch now.

Jofra Archer bowls short and Shimron Hetmyer cuts him over point for a boundary. First boundary off the bat for West Indies.

Roston Chase adds another boundary in this over. Archer goes full and Chase dishes out a perfect cover drive for second four of the over.
