Zombieland 2: Zoey Deutch joins Emma Stone, Jesse Eisenberg in sequel to 2009 horror comedy

Set It Up and Before I Fall star Zoey Deutch has come on board for the post-apocalyptic zombie comedy Zombieland 2, Deadline informed. The sequel to the 2009 sleeper hit will witness Jesse Eisenberg, Woody Harrelson, Emma Stone, and Abigail Breslin reprising their roles.

As per the same report, the sequel will be narrating the journey of the zombie-slayers as they encounter zombies that have evolved since the last film as well as a group of human survivors. Deutch will reportedly be essaying the role of Columbus' (Jesse Eisenberg) love interest.
Director Ruben Fleischer, who helmed the original film, will be directing Zombieland 2 as well. Moreover, writers of Zombieland Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese will also be returning for the sequel. Whereas Gavin Polone will be financing the project, Reese and Wernick will be serving as executive producers.
The first film revolved around the humans trying to find a safe haven free of the hungry undead after a virus attack turns the humankind into zombies. The film grossed over $822 million worldwide, as per Collider.
Zoey will also be seen in Netflix's upcoming Ryan Murphy series The Politician, alongside Ben Platt, Gwyneth Paltrow and Jessica Lange. Apart from this, her upcoming projects include indie film Buffaloed and Johnny Depp-starrer Richard Says Goodbye.
