As per the same report, the sequel will be narrating the journey of the zombie-slayers as they encounter zombies that have evolved since the last film as well as a group of human survivors. Deutch will reportedly be essaying the role of Columbus' (Jesse Eisenberg) love interest.

Director Ruben Fleischer, who helmed the original film, will be directing Zombieland 2 as well. Moreover, writers of Zombieland Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese will also be returning for the sequel.
