Watch: Uri actor Vicky Kaushal conducts surgical strike on film piracy through an innovative move
The makers of URI: The Surgical Strike are leaving no stone unturned to prevent the Vicky Kaushal-starrer from piracy.
Online piracy has become a grave threat to filmmakers. They lose millions at the hands of offenders who leak the entire film on illegal sites within hours of its release. Interestingly, the makers of Uri: The Surgical Strike were prepared to challenge the piracy and fight the piracy sites that allowed viewers to skip the theater experience.
The Uri makers uploaded a fake video on the torrent claiming it to be the entire film. A viral video on Facebook shows someone downloading the 3.8GB torrent file, only to meet disappointment. The file only consisted a short clip of the lead characters mocking his efforts to watch the pirated version of film. The video ends with Vicky Kaushal saying they have conducted a surgical strike on our computer.
