All India Bakchod (AIB) just dropped a video calling out casual sexism in the Hindi film industry featuring Kangana Ranaut (duh!) and stand-up comic Varun Thakur. The video comes day before the release of Ranaut’s upcoming Simran film and has her checking pretty much every way in which Bollywood displays its misogyny.

The scenario is that of a film set, where a director is prepping for a song shoot. While Ranaut plays the quintessential ’love interest’, Thakur portrays almost every Bollywood hero to perfection. His character reeks of machismo and hollow badassery.

It is great to see a rare, refreshing combination of actors completely own it on screen.

Oh and if you’re looking for nepotism, you’ll come up against an ‘Error 404’ — not found.

The seven-minute-long video, aptly describes the discrimination that women have to face in the film industry.

From getting a rubbish script, to having your supposedly ’empowered’ character gyrate to an item song, the video brings out the best of AIB by putting forth the worst of Bollywood. Who would have thought that ‘Chittiyaan Kalaiyaan’ had the potential to be made into a satire mocking Bollywood and its sexist tendencies?
