Watch: Ed Sheeran releases new song 'How Would You Feel (Paean)' on his birthday
Ed Sheeran's new album Divide with drop on 3 March.
Ed Sheeran is building the buzz for his third album Divide (stylised as ÷) with the release of the third track from it on his birthday on 17 March 2017.
After the record-smashing whirlwind release of the first two fast-paced singles 'Shape of you' and 'Castle on the hill,' the British singer changes pace with the new 'How Would You Feel (Paean)'.
The song is a soft, slow ballad, assisted with the help of an acoustic guitar, light piano notes and a steady but low-key drum beat.
Earlier in the week, Sheeran began teasing the release of a new song by week's end and on Wednesday, 15 February 2017 and revealed the tune's title on social media.
"'How Would You Feel (Paean)' comes out tomorrow at midnight wherever you are in the world," he wrote. "It's not the next single, but is one of my favzzzzz."

As the title suggests, the romantic song is an ode to both love and a lover, with Sheeran crooning, "How would you feel...If I told you I loved you?...it's just something that I want to do...Taking my time...Spending my life falling deeper in love with you."
Full of romantic cliches that we have seen Sheeran repeat in his countless other tracks like 'Lego House' and 'Thinking Out Loud,' the song seems almost interchangeable with Sheeran's other ballads.
Whether or not it will be a success, time will tell. The singer's last two singles 'Castle on the hill' and 'Shape of you' crashed the top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100, making Sheeran the first artist to ever accomplish that feat reports Billboard.
Sheeran's third album 'Divide' will drop on 3rd March. Here's the live version of the new song 'How Would You Feel (Paean)' till then:
