Vishal Bhardwaj hints at a collaboration with Shah Rukh Khan, says 'it is time'

Vishal Bhardwaj hints at a collaboration with Shah Rukh Khan, says 'it is time'

Filmmaker Vishal Bhardwaj, who is working with actress Tabu in the suspense thriller Khufiya, has hinted at a prominent cameo with Shah Rukh Khan. In an interview with News18, the 58-year-old pointed out how he has been trying to work on a project with King Khan for a long time. Talking about Jawan, the Haider director added that he loved the action-thriller. After the film’s release, he said that the two spoke at length.

Vishal Bhardwaj added that he had been talking to Shah Rukh Khan about doing a film together. He stated that whenever they meet, it is always discussed when the collaboration would happen. However, now, that time has finally come.

Hinting at SRK’s cameo, the Maqbool director added, “Cameo toh ho hi gaya hai indirect toh film bhi iss baar honi chahiye. (The cameo has happened indirectly, now the film should also happen.)” The filmmaker further added that he could feel from inside that this time they would definitely be able to do something together.

Vishal Bhardwaj recently helmed the latest web series, Charlie Chopra & The Mystery of Solang Valley. The mystery-thriller TV series was released on 26 September on Sony LIV.

For now, Vishal Bhardwaj is gearing up for the release of his next Netflix film, Khufiya. The streaming giant recently shared the film’s promo alongside the release date on Instagram. Netflix India’s caption read, “Kuch raaz, raaz hi rahe to behtar hai (Some secrets are better kept as secrets). But not this one (eye emoji).”

With the suspense-thriller, Tabu, who worked with Vishal Bhardwaj on Maqbool and Haider, is back with another. The film also stars Ali Fazal, Wamiqa Gabbi, Azmeri Haque Badhon and Ashish Vidyarthi in prominent roles, and is set to release on 5 October. It is based on the espionage novel ‘Escape to Nowgere’ written by Amar Bhushan.

Shah Rukh Khan, on the other hand, is basking in the glory of _Jawan_. The film has crossed Rs 1000 crore in box office collections. Next up, he will be seen in the Rajkumar Hirani-helmed Dunki alongside Taapsee Pannu.
