Too hot to handle: Akshay, Sidharth sport rugged look in Brothers

For those who like their men grungy and buff, there are few things more perfect in this world than Akshay Kumar and Sidharth Malhotra in one frame, flaunting their beautifully symmetrical faces and bulging biceps. If your imagination can’t put that photo together, take a look at the poster of Dharma Productions’ upcoming film, Brothers:

And yes, that is indeed Jackie Shroff in the background, bringing down the sex appeal of the poster by a few thousand degrees.

Genetics is wondrous business, but its never as magnificently weird as it is in Bollywood. Nowhere in the real world can you imagine anyone who looks like Shroff could birth men with Kumar and Malhotra’s features. We can’t wait to find out who plays their mother.

Brothers is a remake of the Hollywood hit, Warriors, and unwittingly reminiscent of Apne, starring the Deols (Dharmendra, Sunny and Bobby).  Apne is about a family that has produced not one, or two, but three champion boxers. However, in Brothers, the Kumar and Malhotra are clearly fighting against each one another, separated as they are by the wire fence in the poster.

If the first look of the film is any indication, the only thing the two brothers share are buffness. Kumar sports a Jesus Christ tattoo on his arm while Malhotra’s bicep is noticeably uninked. Kumar should be playing the role of an ex-Army man, if director Karan Malhotra has stayed faithful to Warriors. Malhotra sports a punk-esque stud and wears his love for Jesus openly, courtesy a crucifix pendant. Malhotra’s other accessory is that frown which we last saw in Ek Villain. Let’s hope he’s added a few more expressions to his repertoire.

Talking about actors with limited range of expressions, Brothers also stars Jacqueline Fernandez, who doesn’t feature in the poster. Produced by Karan Johar, it is Dharma Productions’ and filmmaker Karan Malhotra’s second attempt at making a serious action drama after Agneepath. Brothers will release on August 14, 2015.
