Sonakshi Sinha could be roped in for AR Murugadoss' next film with superstar Vijay
Sonakshi Sinha seems to be a shoo-in for the film as she already has a connection with AR Murugadoss and the Tamil film industry
Will Sonakshi Sinha's next project be with AR Murugadoss and south star Vijay?
That's what reports seem to indicate. Vijay and Murugadoss are set to team up for the third time later this year, and as per industry sources, this film was to feature a Bollywood actress in the lead.
"It's true that Murugadoss and Vijay are coming together for the third time. The project, in all probability, will go on the floors towards the end of this year. Talks have been initiated with a few Bollywood heroines including Sonakshi Sinha," a source privy to the development told IANS.
Sonakshi seems to be a shoo-in for the film as she already has a connection with Murugadoss and the Tamil film industry. She was previously cast in Lingaa opposite Rajinikanth, and her last action film, Akira (a remake of the Tamil Mouna Guru), was directed by Murugadoss. In addition to this, Holiday: A Soldier Is Never off Duty (in which Sonakshi featured opposite Akshay Kumar) was a remake of Murugadoss' Thuppaki.
"Murugadoss approached Sonakshi because both of them understand each other very well. Nothing has been confirmed yet," IANS quoted its source as saying.
The film will be bankrolled by Lyca Productions, the company which produced Murugadoss's earlier film Kaththi with Vijay.
Vijay has just begun working on a yet-untitled Tamil project with director Atlee.
Murugadoss, on the other hand, is busy wrapping up a yet-untitled Telugu-Tamil bilingual project with Mahesh Babu.
