In the last few years, the south Indian movies like ‘Bahubali’, ‘KGF’, ‘Kantara’ and RRR dominated the box-office. But Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan was the first pan Indian movie that performed well at the box-office. It was Shah Rukh Khan who gave a new lease of life to Bollywood first after the release of Pathaan early this year and now after Jawan which was a Pan- Indian film. It is the highest grossing Indian film of the year. Jawan has not only met expectations but significantly exceeded them, amassing a staggering ₹384.69 crore worldwide in just three days. Directed by Atlee, _Jawan_ is infused with the classic South Indian masala . Whether it is Nayanthra, Vijay Sethupathi, Sanya Malhotra Deepika Padukone or Sunil Grover every craftsman had an important role to play. But we must admit that SRK has a way of over shining and over shadowing all actors with his presence and such is the star power of King Khan. Though I am sure that is not his aim. It is highly unlikely that any other film will witness such a success in India after _Jawan_ . Shah Rukh Khan is a super star and the last of the stars that Indian cinema has produced. But at the same time, we cannot ignore the performance of Vijay Sethupathi and the direction of Atlee who is the king of massy films in India. As Firstpost reported, how Jawan had grabbed the top spot in the Australian and New Zealand markets too. Atlee, known to be a massy director, gives the audiences exactly what they want. He and also our favourite SRK knows how to get the audiences back to the theatres. They provide what the audience demands, which is a true masala potboiler with a hidden meaning. I won’t say this was SRK’s best performance, _Pathaan_ was undoubtedly better. But the finesse with which he carries his age is remarkable. Again, this is different too as he is portraying multiple characters. Looks like not just SRK, but Atlee knows how to play with the nerves of the audiences.
Here is how Jawan is Shah Rukh Khan’s first Pan-Indian movie which performed brilliantly at the box-office.
