If you want to pick up some new garba moves before Navratri, you might want to watch Deepika Padukone in Ram Leela’s new number ‘Nagada Sang Dhol Baaje’ for reference.
The music of the song is folksy and upbeat and the picturisation is done with Bhansali’s characteristic grandeur. While the moves are heavily borrowed from the traditional garba, the choreography also has an uncanny similarity to Dhol Baaje, a number from Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam.
Padukone looks sizzling in red lehenga-choli and there is a palpable chemistry between her and Ranveer Singh. Everything else in the video is colour co-ordinated (naturally) and everyone, from men firing their guns to those beating their drums, are perfectly synchronized. The song also features Supriya Pathak Kapoor. She seems to be the only one not enjoying Padukone’s dancing. Singh, on the other hand, looks very pleased with the lady in red as she sways to the music.
Ram Leela directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali stars Singh as Ram and Deepika as Leela. The film is slated to hit the screens on 15 November, 2013.
