Deepika Padukone says 'Ranveer Singh and I were allowed to see other people' on 'Koffee With Karan 8', internet divided

Karan Johar returned with season eight of his popular chat show Koffee With Karan, and the opening guests were couple Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone. This was the first time the couple graced the couch of Karan Johar’s show together. The two tied the knot back in November 2018. As much as fans loved the chemistry they displayed on the couch, one statement of the actress about their initial days of relationship has divided the internet. Deepika said, “I wanted to be single for a while because I had come from difficult relationships. I was going through a phase where I said ‘I just don’t want to be attached, don’t want to be committed’. And I had fun! And then he comes along, so I didn’t commit, until he proposed to me. There was no ‘commitment as such. Even if we were technically allowed to see other people, we would just keep coming back to each other.” Here are the reactions on the very statement that had the internet divided:

The show gave a surprise to #DeepVeer fans by sharing the wedding video, which was a visual treat. Karan Johar, who got teary-eyed after watching the clip, said that while he was happy for the couple, he felt lonely at the same time. He said, “God! There’s a line in my film ki aisa lagta hai ki mere dil ka pet bhar gaya hai (my heart is full).” “I am not in a relationship and I am kind of single. It just makes me feel like what I am losing out on not being in one,” added the filmmaker.
