JK Rowling may have dropped a major spoiler for the next Fantastic Beasts film

Apart from shutting down trolls and slamming Donald Trump, one of JK Rowling's other favourite Twitter past-times is micro-blogging her writing process.

She's previously shared advice for aspiring writers, and on one memorable occasion she even posted photos of the rejection letters she'd received in the past.

On Thursday, Rowling was clearly in a sharing mood where she engaged in a conversation with a fan about the upcoming Fantastic Beasts film:

She started replying to tweets from fans:

Soon the conversation turned to Fantastic Beasts 2.

And inevitably the subject of spoilers came up.

Rather than refusing to answer, though, Rowling tweeted this cryptic response.

But just the fact that it is a spoiler (and a big one, at that) tells us that Newt Scamander (Eddie Redmayne)'s patronus is obviously going to feature heavily in the second film.

And what do we know about patronus'? Well, as was the case with Snape, they can be influenced by a person that the wizard or witch has been in love with.

Combine that with the fact that J.K. Rowling has already said we'll find out more about Leta Lestrange — Newt's childhood love — in the next film, it seems likely that Newt's patronus will have something to do with her.
