Jiah Khan's mother moves HC, claims her daughter was murdered

Four months after her daughter and actress Jiah Khan was found hanging in her apartment, Rabia Khan has brought fresh allegations against the probe team and moved Bombay High Court. In a petition filed in Bombay HC, Khan alleged that Jiah has been murdered and sought a CBI investigation. Mumbai Mirror reports:

In her petition, filed on Tuesday, Amin has made two key claims - she has cast aspersions on the police, for what she claims was a shoddy probe, and she has claimed that the police’s “lethargic and biased approach” was to “benefit the accused Sooraj Pancholi." 

According to Mirror, Rabia has supplemented her petition with a series of pictures taken right after Jiah’s body was discovered. She had sought the held of an independent forensic expert who was of the opinion that Jiah’s was murdered and didn’t commit suicide.

Jiah’s mother has raised a series of questions and has accused Vishwas Nagre Patil, additional commissioner, west region of having succumbed to pressure from influential people like the Pancholis to shut the case. Pointing out that Jiah’s body was not found with either her mouth or eyes open like all victims of hanging are, she said that the police are trying to pass off murder as suicide. There are several other points she has raised questioning the police’s declaration that Jiah has committed suicide.

A report on Times of India says that some evidence was not taken into account by the police. TOI reports:

She also claimed that there were injury marks on Jiah’s body and no attempt was made by the police to ascertain their cause.
