Said to be based on true events, the film will have Kriti Sanon as the female lead. While Akhtar plays a prisoner, Sanon will be seen in the role of a NGO worker helping the prisoners.

Reports suggest that the film will go on floors in September.

Box Office India reports, “The film goes on the floors next month. Kriti, who just finished Raabta, will soon start the workshop as she plays an NGO worker in the film and needs to prep for her role. It will be shot in Lucknow as Ranjit wants to capture the charm of the city.”

Produced by Nikhil Advani, the film marks the directorial debut of his assistant, Ranjit Tiwari.
