The actress told Filmfare, "Yes, I’m working on it. I hope it happens. There’s no script as yet. It’s something my friend and I are developing. I was in the plane with a friend from the industry and talking about the movies we’d like to make. We realised that this superhero film is something we’d like to make. It’s a seed we’re nurturing.”

While India has seen male superheroes in Ra.One, Drona and Krrish, this will be the first time a female superhero will be witnessed in an Indian film.

Padukone also revealed that she got engaged to Ranveer Singh four years ago. The actress confirmed that she has been dating the Simmba star since 2012 on Koffee with Karan season 6 and shortly after, the duo announced the wedding date on their respective social media pages. Deepika and Ranveer performed their nuptials on 14 and 15 November in an intimate ceremony at Lake Como, Italy.

On the work front, Deepika will play the lead role alongside Vikrant Massey in filmmaker Meghna Gulzar's next, where the actress will portray Laxmi Agarwal, an acid attack survivor.
