Bigg Boss, Brad Pitt rules Indian prime time tv

(We will publish this report on a weekly basis) It seems like India is enjoying a family-friendly Bigg Boss, the same show that gained popularity in its previous seasons for manipulative housemates seducing, bitching and back stabbing to survive elimination, has been sanitised for family viewing this season. But, still replete with innate drama, hurling accusations and petty scuffles, there seems to be no greater form of entertainment for Indian television viewers than Bigg Boss. According to a TV search and electronic guide provider company, What’s-On-India’s (WOI) report Bigg Boss, aired on Colors TV, was the most popular Hindi tv show last week . This is the second week in a row that Bigg Boss managed to continue on the top. The reality tv show in its 6th season, clearly defeated daily soaps Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon and Bade Acche Lagte Hain (Sony) which took 2nd and 3rd spot respectively on WOI’s  list. Balika Vadhu and Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata hai were replaced from the Top 5 list by Saath Nibhana Sathiya on 4th and CID on the 5th position. But reports show otherwise. According to WOI’s report Brad Pitt was the most watched Hollywood actor, in the Indian drawing rooms last week, as his film Moneyball scored the top slot in English movie category. Transformers: Dark Of The Moon (HBO) took the second position and Harry Potter And The Half Blood Prince (WB) managed to be on the 3rd spot. As far as English TV shows are concerned, the sitcom Two and a Half Men clinched the top spot. Grey’s Anatomy replaces How I Met Your Mother (Star World) at the 2nd spot with the latter dropping to the 3rd spot. The geeky The Big Bang Theory fell off the list with Supernatural and Ripley’s Believe It Or Not ! coming in at 4th and 5th spot respectively. Bol Bachchan (Star Gold) stays the most popular among What’s-On-India users and takes the first position in the Hindi Movie category. Akshay Kumar starrer Rowdy Rathore features 2nd on the list.Yamraj Ek Faulad (dubbed in Hindi) from the maker of hit film Makhi, takes the 3rd spot. The mighty Khans of Bollywood complete the list with Shahrukh Khan’s Chak De India! at 4th and Aamir Khan’s Ghajini at 5th spot respectively. Live Football action dominates the Sports category, with Barclays Premier League 2012/13 being the most popular. Doraemon is the most favourite kids show. The report made by What’s On India has been based on data accumulated from various platforms such as web portal, mobile portal, apps (Android, iPhone, Blackberry, Windows Mobile, Nokia Ovi), iPad and tablet apps, EPG-on-the-Cloud (Mobile TV and IPTV) and other connected devices. A press release by WOI claimed that the WOI TV Guide App has crossed 1 Million+ downloads in February this year. WOI registers a new user every 30 secs on its site or apps of WOI platforms. What’s-On-India is a Electronic Program Guide (EPG) and TV Search Company, that powers TV Search on more than 45 million devices including set-top-boxes, recorders as well as apps on mobiles, tablets and smart-TVs. What’s-on-India currently has operations in India and Middle East. It is funded by Intel Capital, Nexus Venture Partners, Sequoia Capital and Wealth First Advisors Pvt. Ltd     ![](https://images.firstpost.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/11/chart-1380.jpg "chart-1380")     ![](https://images.firstpost.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/11/chart2380.jpg "chart2380")
