Bhalo meye: Here's a glimpse of Deepika Padukone as the good Bengali girl in Piku
Deepika Padukone will soon be seen playing the role of a Bengali girl in her upcoming film Piku. The first look of the actress playing the part is out. Take a look.

Meet Deepika Padukone in and as Piku. She plays an architect who lives with her father (Amitabh Bachchan) in Delhi. She is independent and runs her own small business. In this photo, we see Piku (Padukone) dressed casually but stylishly, in a tunic matched with a lungi-esque skirt and a scarf.

Here, Padukone’s Piku tries out a more traditional, Bengali look. Black bindi, kanbala(chandelier earrings) on her ears and classic sari drape come together very nicely. Her hair is tied in a messy bun, making her look a real person rather than model-like.

Clearly, given Piku is seen holding brown bread, she’s not on a no-carb diet. She is, however, serious about green vegetables, judging from what’s peeking out of her grocery bag. Again, Padukone is seen wearing an outfit that’s simple, understated and realistic.

Here is Padukone’s Piku trying to channel her inner Cinderella, with jhaaru in hand. If only the rest of us looked even half as photogenic while surveying cobwebs. Cleaned up, Padukone is a vision, even as she tries for the girl-next-door look with unflamboyant make-up and hair.

Finally, here she is as Daddy’s Little Girl. This shot shows Piku (Padukone) taking her father (Amitabh Bachchan) out for a drive. Bachchan is seen wearing a neck brace and a hat. Clearly, age isn’t being kind to Bachchan’s character in the film.
