In one of the biggest revelations and indeed happy news for all, Bollywood star couple Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone announced that they are expecting their first child. On Thursday, 29 February, the couple issued a joint statement on social media to confirm the news. Further, they also mentioned the due date for the baby’s arrival. As soon as the news came out, fans were seen getting super excited and happy, showering blessings and best wishes for the couple. It seems like fans who were eagerly waiting for DeepVeer to announce the big news just got their wish granted!
However, there have been multiple instances when Ranveer and Deepika found themselves surrounded by rumours of having a baby. While the two never directly addressed the same, there have been occasions when the couple actually spoke about starting a family.
When Deepika Padukone spoke about having ’three kids’
In a round table conversation with Rajeev Masand back in 2013, Deepika Padukone once spoke about plans to have a lot of children if not an actor. “If I was not an actor I don’t know what I would have been doing. But hopefully with some children around. Three little kids, scuttling about. Hopefully, be working enough to take them to shoots. Have a happy family. And at the same time, still doing what I am doing,” she said.
While this was years before the actress got married, she has time and again shared her keenness regarding starting a family. At a L’Oreal event, the Fighter actress once expressed her wish to have a lot of babies and said, “That’s what I want to do. I know the importance of family. It really completes me as a person. I want to have a lot of children. I look at baby pictures and I am like ‘I love kids’”.
Ranveer Singh wants a baby girl like Deepika
On the other hand, Ranveer Singh also shared his thoughts about having kids. While talking on ‘The Big Picture’ show, Ranveer admired Deepika by calling her a cute baby and said, “I see her baby photos every day and tell her, ‘Give me one baby like this one, my life will be set’." Besides that, the actor once revealed that he would prefer a baby girl, just like his wife.
“I think they’re so much nicer, kinder, more intelligent, more involved. I much prefer the feminine energy,” he told Bollywood Bubble.
Meanwhile, as the B-town couple gears up to embrace parenthood, their baby is due in September 2024.
