Veteran actor Ashish Vidyarthi and his second wife Rupali Barua were injured in a road accident in Guwahati, raising concerns in Assam as per reports. The incident occurred on Friday at Zoo Road, which is one of the busiest areas of the city.

According to sources, the accident took place in front of The Guwahati Address Hotel, under the Geetanagar Police Station area. Ashish Vidyarthi and his wife were crossing the road after dinner when a speeding Avenger motorcycle suddenly hit them, leaving both injured on the spot.

The motorcycle was reportedly coming from the Chandmari side at a very high speed. The impact of the collision not only injured the actor and his wife but also left the biker seriously hurt. Locals immediately alerted the police after the accident.

Ashish Vidyarthi shares health update

Vidyarthi himself confirmed about the accident, adding that he and wife Rupali Barua have suffered minor injuries. In his Instagram video, Ashish said, “Main ek ajeeb se time par live kar raha hoon, just to let you all know. Because main abhi dekh raha hoon bahut se news channels mein kya kya aa raha hain. Rupali and I were crossing the street yesterday, and a bike hit us. We are fine. Rupali is under observation. All is well, I am good. Chhota sa chot aya hai… but absolutely fine (I have gone live at a weird time just to let you all know… I am seeing what’s coming on a lot of news channels. Rupali and I were crossing the street yesterday, and a bike hit us. We are fine, Rupali is under observation. All is well, I am good, the injuries were minor, but absolutely fine).”

Back in 2023, while speaking to Hindustan Times, his first wife Piloo Vidyarthi spoke about her ex-husband, opened up about their bond and his second wife. Speaking about Rupali , she said, “For Rupali, I would again say it’s a rare thing to find someone. People are passing comments because they cannot accept generosity. I am quite a transparent person. My fans, followers and people who know me, are aware that I am the same person inside and out. I have not been tortured. Ashish met Rupali after our decision. He is not a bad person. He is a good guy. Can’t we expect a little kindness from people?”

While talking about the cryptic posts she shared on social media post the pictures from the  wedding going viral, she revealed, “The thing is I don’t use my brain about these little things. I go by my heart. I deleted those posts later. I didn’t do it intentionally. I usually read these quotes and share them if I like them. But, I should have used my brain. A lot of my friends had told me before to not share these things. I am more of an emotion-driven person.”
