Pre-placement offers have taken a jump start at Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta (IIM-C), but analysts believe the tide can change int he coming months due to moderate growth and an extremely volatile global economy.
Though pre-placement offers have kick started in all IIMs, IIM-C has already seen 52 PPOs out of a batch of 352 in the first fifteen days ! Major recruiters so far have been investment banks, consulting firms, IT and marketing companies.
Who is hiring?
Among the investment banks, Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley, RBS, Nomura and Barclays Capital are the major recruiters, where as in consulting Bain, McKinsey,AT Kearney,and Boston Consulting Group have offered jobs to students.
In the marketing sector Hindustan Lever is the big name and Microsoft from IT is already on campus.
Overseas offers
Moreover, offers have been made from multiple international locations like New York, Singapore, London Hong Kong and Dubai.
Even though pre-placement offers are poring in, looking at global economic upheavals, experts say winning final placement and lateral placement offers though may be tougher.
