VMware Drives 'Business Infrastructure Virtualisation' In India

Virtualisation solution provider VMware has announced new initiatives around its core products – VMware View, the VMware vCenter Product Family, and VMware vSphere – to drive ‘business infrastructure virtualisation’ adoption in India. The aim is to enable Indian organisations and their IT departments to shift their primary focus from maintenance to enhancing efficiency and innovation.

“Most businesses today equate virtualisation with capital expenditure savings that result from server consolidation,” said T Srinivasan, Managing Director, VMware India & SAARC. “With a broader virtualisation strategy, as defined by business infrastructure virtualisation, Indian businesses can achieve even more, through savings from financial, human and the earth’s energy. We are offering our customers one platform for all of their IT and virtualisation needs, from deployment to management and support”.

New Approach To Desktop Computing

VMware’s most recently launched initiative and solution is VMware View 4, which is key to driving rapid adoption of virtualised desktops and establishing a ‘desktop as a managed service’ model.
Built upon VMware vSphere, VMware View 4 is a complete desktop virtualisation solution, enabling reduced desktop acquisition and administration costs, increased security, compliance and manageability for IT, along with a flexible desktop experience across a broad set of computing devices, user models and network connections.

Improved business agility with VMware vCenter Product Family

VMware vCenter delivers a complete set of capabilities to centrally manage and automate all recurrent IT management processes in the virtualised data centre, resulting in Operating Expense savings. The VMware vCenter family of products enables service-level assurance and proactive management of virtualised environments through provisioning, performance, capacity planning and disaster recovery automation.

VMware vSphere 4, enabling the delivery of IT as a service

VMware vSphere 4 is a virtualisation platform, delivering a foundation to transform data centres into dynamic, simplified infrastructures for private and public cloud environments. VMware vSphere delivers a set of capabilities for high availability, security, resource optimisation and business continuity, catering to customers of all sizes.
