Tableau named leader in 2017 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Business Intelligence and Analytics

For the fifth year in a row, Gartner has named Tableau as a leader in its Magic Quadrant report for Business Intelligence and Analytics.

Tableau was able to increase its lead this year, further establishing Tableau as one of the leading companies in the world for visual analytics solutions. The report by Gartner analysed 24 vendors on 15 critical capabilities and recognised Tableau as the "Gold standard for intuitive interactive exploration".

Francois Ajenstat, Chief Product Officer at Tableau, said "Being named a Leader for the fifth consecutive year is a testament to the success our customers have had using Tableau to see and understand their data, and confirms Tableau as the industry standard for interactive visual analytics. We’re honored that Gartner recognizes that Tableau is the established enterprise platform for data analytics, and we’re continuing to invest in enabling our customers to do more with their data, as well as broadening the impact of analytics in organizations."

Steven John, CIO at AmeriPride said "We originally chose Tableau to run our analytics because of how well established it is in the industry. We knew that, based on their history of reliability and credibility, with Tableau we were positioned to succeed right out of the gate. The tool is as solid today as it was when we first bought it, and the company has a clear roadmap for the future that aligns with where we want to go as a company. Tableau provides us with a great solution now and for years to come."

Tableau has been recognised for focusing on customer experience, with improvements in scores on business benefits. A range of training options including webinars, tutorials and hands on classroom based training has increased the number of skilled Tableau resources available in the market. The deployment options are flexible, and Tableau works with a number of other business intelligence solutions. Microsoft is one of the other companies in the leadership position.
