Volkswagen could launch the new Tiguan next month as pre-orders for the new SUV have begun in New Delhi.

Volkswagen is expected to bring its all new Tiguan SUV to India as we have seen testing mules in the past. It seems that the launch is getting closer as the car has made its way to Volkswagen India’s official website .

According to a source, a dealership in New Delhi has opened up bookings for the upcoming SUV at a minimum amount of Rs 1 lakh. The expected on-road price of the car will be between Rs 25 lakh to Rs 30 lakh. The dealership has confirmed that the car will be available for display as well as test drives by 12 May. This means that Volkswagen could launch it by next month.

Volkswagen showcased the Tiguan at the 2016 Auto Expo which will be based on its flexible MQB platform. At launch, the SUV will be offered in a 2.0-litre diesel engine paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox along with an all-wheel-drive system with a separate off-road mode selector dial.

The Tiguan will come loaded with a host of features including LED headlights, driver assistance, infotainment as well as safety features. Features like a panoramic sunroof, virtual release pedal and faux leather upholstery will also be offered based on the trim. The Comfortline trim is expected to get 17-inch alloy wheels, while the Highline variant could get larger 18-inch wheels.

The car maker recently announced a special limited edition Polo GT Sport in India priced at Rs 8.7 lakhs.
