Ford India has launched another new version of its EcoSport compact SUV dubbed the Ford EcoSport Platinum Edition. While many await the facelift of the EcoSport this year, Ford seems to have gone ahead and created another variant of its current model, added some extra features and given it a Rs 10.39 lakh price tag.
Jumping straight into the specifications, there’s nothing new here. The new Platinum Edition Ford EcoSport will be available in both 1.5-litre diesel and 1.0-litre EcoBoots petrol engines. The diesel version is priced higher at Rs 10.69 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).

So what exactly do you get? There’s a new dual-tone exterior with a black roof. There are now front and rear bumpers appliques that help enhance the muscular look of the new 17-inch diamond cut alloy wheels that now come with wider tyres.

Things haven’t changed much on the inside, but you do get an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with embedded satellite navigation. The system also doubles up as rear view camera for easy reverse parking.
Anurag Mehrotra, Executive Director, Marketing, Sales and Service, Ford India explains the reasoning behind the new variant of the EcoSport, “The Platinum Edition is in keeping with our commitment to introduce products that Indian customers want and value. It introduces several upgrades that accentuate EcoSport’s design, enhance customer convenience and improve the driving dynamics of our compact SUV,”
The Ford EcoSport Platinum Edition comes after the Signature Edition that was launched late last year.
