Audi A8 Edition 21 to be sold in the UK

121 limited edition Audi A8s will be produced by the Ingolstadt manufacturer to commemorate 21 years of the luxury sedan. These will be sold only in the UK as the Audi A8 Edition 21 at on-road prices starting £72,525 (roughly Rs 71.95 lakh) for the standard version. The long wheelbase version will retail at £76,490 on-road (Rs 75.86 lakh approximately).

The standard wheelbase model will come with the recently introduced Sport style package. Redesigned front and rear bumpers, prominent side sills and Matrix LED head lamps will come as standard in the Edition 21.

20-inch alloys with a titanium-look finish will be unique to the Audi A8 Edition 21. The car will be available in four exterior colours, which include the  Daytona grey pearl effect shade usually reserved for the S8. Privacy glass for the rear windows and rear windscreen is also standard.

The features offered inside this limited edition A8 are based on the ones offered in the SE Executive trim. There are two themes available for the interior - cognac brown with black stitching and black with red stitching. Illuminated ‘Edition 21’ signs have been added on the door sills. Audi’s range of telephone and Internet-based assistance is available to all Edition 21 customers - this comes along with the HDD-based sat-nav and a Bose surround sound system.

Under the hood of both the longer wheelbase and standard A8 is the 3.0-litre V6 TDI engine which makes 262PS and 580Nm of torque between 1,750 and 2,500 rpm. It’s mated to an 8-speed tiptronic transmission linked to quattro permanent all-wheel drive.
