The Indian-American won the award in physics in 1983 “for his theoretical studies of the physical processes of importance to the structure and evolution of the stars” with William A Flower. Did you know he is not the only Nobel winner in his family? Well, Chandrasekhar is the nephew of Indian physicist C V Raman, who won the Nobel Prize in 1930 for his work in the field of light scattering.
