US President Donald Trump was caught on a hot mic during a conversation with Israeli President Benjamin Netanyahu at his Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida, where he appeared to vent about being denied the Nobel Peace Prize and asked, “Do I get credit?”
During the exchange, Trump once again claimed that he had eased tensions between India and Pakistan by using tariff threats.
“They gave the Nob…” Trump was heard saying before adding, “India. How about India and Pakistan? So I did eight of them. And then I’ll tell you the rest of it.”

Trump notices camera, asks staff to leave
Trump was speaking with Netanyahu when he suddenly noticed a camera in the room. Turning towards it, he said, “How are you doing? Okay?” He then asked the person behind the camera to leave and “enjoy your lunch”.
He later praised the Israeli delegation, saying, “This is a very good group. We’ve made a lot of progress already. We had about a five-minute meeting and we’ve already settled about three of the difficulties. Thank you very much for being here.”

Trump has repeatedly claimed that he played a key role in easing tensions between India and Pakistan following the Pahalgam terror attack and India’s Operation Sindoor, during which Pakistan-based terrorist infrastructure was targeted.

Trump and the Nobel Peace Prize
Trump has long expressed a desire to win the Nobel Peace Prize and has often highlighted his role in resolving global conflicts. Countries including Pakistan and Israel have previously voiced support for his nomination.
However, after it was announced that María Corina Machado would receive the 2025 Nobel Peace Prize, Trump did not issue any public criticism. Machado later thanked Trump, saying during a call that the Venezuelan people were grateful for his efforts “not only in the Americas, but around the world for peace, for freedom, for democracy”.
Focus shifts to Ukraine peace efforts
Trump has now turned his focus towards brokering peace in Ukraine, the one conflict where he has acknowledged that progress has remained elusive so far. On Monday, he met Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in Florida and later held a telephone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
