A fresh tranche of documents released by the US Department of Justice has brought renewed scrutiny to Jeffrey Epstein’s private life, revealing details of his online shopping history uncovered during the federal investigation into the disgraced financier. The records, drawn from a wider document release, list thousands of Amazon purchases that investigators say point to disturbing patterns in the years leading up to his death.
As reported by the New York Post and shared in posts on X, the receipts span from 2014 to 2019 and include more than 1,000 items purchased through Epstein’s Amazon account. The disclosures form part of an ongoing review of over a million documents linked to Epstein. According to CNN, around 750,000 files have already been examined and released, while roughly 700,000 remain under review, a process the department has said could take “a few more weeks”.
Items flagged by investigators and experts
Among the most concerning purchases detailed in the newly released files were schoolgirl uniforms, including pleated skirts and full-body dresses, ordered in 2018 and shipped directly to Epstein’s Manhattan residence. The list also includes a $61.50 Sonic prostate massager, purchased two days after Christmas in 2018.
The DOJ records further show purchases such as binoculars and other items which, taken together, have been cited by experts as indicative of troubling behaviour. According to the records, Epstein also bought bottles of Vagifirm, an herbal supplement marketed as promoting “increased lubrication and libido” and firmer breasts, priced at $64.95. Additional items included an FBI costume, Israel Defence Forces combat pants, several sauna hats, and four books by Vladimir Nabokov, including Lolita, the controversial novel centred on paedophilia.
Reviewing the shopping list, relational trauma psychologist Desiree Nazarian told the New York Post that the purchases were not incidental.
“The presence of these child-coded items alongside these sexual tools is so clinically alarming,” she said.
Nazarian described the list as a reflection of “predatory dynamics 101”, adding that it pointed to a personality driven by domination and capable of causing harm.
“Everything on this list is really common in predatory profiles. It’s marked by coercion, entitlement, dominance and control of narrative,” she further said.
Epstein, a registered sex offender, died in a New York jail cell in August 2019 while awaiting trial on federal sex trafficking charges. Although his death brought an end to courtroom proceedings, the continued release of court records and investigative material has kept shedding light on his conduct and behaviour.
