It's snowing in London...!!!

Even as sub zero temperatures were recorded in many areas of the European continent, paralysing central and southern Europe over the weekend claiming more than 200 lives , the United Kingdom was no different.

The United Kingdom finally saw snow and how! With heavy snow causing logistic and travel problems across the UK — stranding motorists on slippery, icy streets and making the country’s roads treacherous to drive on — London’s Heathrow airport reportedly cancelled more half its flights. The Guardian reported “The icy spell has seen daytime temperatures plummet four or five degrees lower than average for February, traditionally the coldest month of the year.”

London’s other airport, Gatwick on its website stated that it remained “open for business although travel across the UK and some parts of Europe is being affected by adverse weather. "

The statement went on to say, “If you are travelling over the next few days, we advise you to check the status of your flight with your airline before setting out and allow extra time for your journey to the airport. ”
