US-Israel-Iran War Live Updates: The West Asia conflict has entered a dangerous new phase, with escalating military strikes, rising casualties, and urgent diplomatic efforts underway to prevent further regional destabilisation.

Israel has intensified its offensive by targeting two key nuclear facilities and two major steel plants in Iran, marking a significant escalation in the ongoing conflict. Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi condemned the strikes and warned that Tehran would respond with “heavy” retaliation, signalling the possibility of further military confrontation.

The attacks come despite assurances from US President Donald Trump, who had indicated a 10-day delay in strikes on Iran’s energy infrastructure until April 6. Trump continues to assert that negotiations with Iran are progressing “very well”, even as developments on the ground suggest a widening conflict.

Amid the rising tensions, diplomatic channels remain active. Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar confirmed that Islamabad is facilitating communication between US and Iranian officials, with Turkey and Egypt also contributing to mediation efforts aimed at de-escalation.

The humanitarian toll continues to grow. Iran’s Deputy Health Minister Ali Jafarian reported that at least 1,937 people have been killed in US-Israeli attacks. Meanwhile, in Lebanon, Israel has issued evacuation orders for residents south of the Zahrani River as the country’s Health Ministry reports more than 1,100 deaths since March 2 due to ongoing Israeli strikes.

US Israel Iran War Live Updates: Israeli strike hits Beirut suburbs as fears grow over expanded ground offensive

An Israeli strike hit Beirut’s southern suburbs overnight, targeting an area already under a blanket evacuation order that had been reissued earlier in the evening. Such orders have been issued repeatedly since the conflict escalated nearly four weeks ago, now extending across large parts of southern Lebanon up to the Zahrani River.

The developments come amid Israel’s ongoing ground offensive, with troops operating in multiple locations in Lebanon in recent days. Israeli military leadership has signalled plans to widen the operation, with Chief of Staff visits to the क्षेत्र reinforcing intentions to establish what officials describe as a “security zone” reaching the Litani River.

For many in Lebanon, these moves have heightened fears that such a zone may not be temporary, given the history of past Israeli invasions and prolonged occupation in the south. There are also growing concerns that many of the nearly one million displaced people may be unable to return to their homes.

US Israel Iran War Live Updates: Missile strike hits Tel Aviv after Israeli attacks on Iran; one killed

A fresh wave of missile attacks struck early Saturday, in what is being seen as retaliation for intensified Israeli strikes on targets across Iran a day earlier.

The barrage targeted Tel Aviv and nearby eastern towns, with at least one missile reportedly carrying a cluster warhead that dispersed smaller bomblets over a wide area. The impact zone was extensive, with one missile hitting a usually busy commercial street in central Tel Aviv, killing one person and injuring several others.

The assault coincided with rocket fire from Hezbollah in southern Lebanon, targeting communities in northern Israel. Israeli officials have cited such threats from the north as a key reason for expanding military operations in southern Lebanon, where troops are being deployed to push Hezbollah back and establish a buffer zone.

US Israel Iran War Live Updates: Trump criticises Nato allies over Hormuz, questions future US support

US President Donald Trump on Friday expressed strong disappointment with Nato allies for declining to deploy military support to secure the Strait of Hormuz, warning that Washington may reconsider extending assistance to them in the future.

“They just weren’t there,” he said at an investment forum in Miami. “We spend hundreds of billions of dollars a year on NATO, hundreds, protecting them, and we would have always been there for them, but now, based on their actions, I guess we don’t have to be, do we?”

“Why would we be there for them if they’re not there for us? They weren’t there for us.”

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said on Friday that Washington expects its bombing campaign in Iran to conclude within weeks rather than months, adding that the US can achieve its objectives without deploying ground troops.

Speaking to reporters after meeting G7 counterparts in France, Rubio said the US was “on or ahead of schedule in that operation, and expect to conclude it at the appropriate time here — a matter of weeks, not months.”

He added that “when we are done with them here in the next couple weeks, they will be weaker than they’ve been in recent history.”
