“What used to cost Rs 150 now costs Rs 300!” says homemaker Poonam Grover in our Youspeak video. Outlining the effects of the vegetable price hike, Grover says that her kids now have to contend with more Indian dishes — compared to the continental dishes that she would earlier prepare on a regular basis. “Earlier I used to purchase around three-four kilos of vegetables, which would last for a week. But now I buy around two kilos, so yes, the price hike has made definitely made a big difference,” she says.
