Vajpayee and Modi are poles apart - Vajpayee never got personal in his political speeches whereas Modi has made it a routine to attack personally like he did by calling Manmohan Singh a nightwatchman. Many in BJP’s closed circles, who are close to Vajpayee, have been very embarrassed by his statement.
