After freak reports of Apple’s iPhones exploding in China, a new report has come out where an iPad charger apparently exploded in the hands of a British man. According to British newspaper Mirror , UK resident Tim Gillooley claims that he was severely burnt when he attempted to unplug his daughter Chloe’s iPad.
The report says that the 34-year-old was burnt by the shock, which flung him across the room.
Gillooley had earlier noticed that the iPad had a charging problem, according to the report. “He had returned it to the Apple Store three months earlier but was told there was nothing wrong with the charger or the device. They bought a new official charger and lightening cable – used for Apple’s newer models – to see if it would solve the problem but it continued,” says the newspaper .
A month ago a Chinese woman was electrocuted as result of talking on her iPhone 5 while it was plugged in for charging. In another incident, a Chinese man’s iPhone 4 exploded while he was sleeping next to it in July.
The reports indicated that the chargers used in these cases were the ones at fault.
