Xiaomi announced the Redmi Note 4 on 19 January which went on its first sale on 23 January. Today the company has announced that it has managed to sell 1 million units of the smartphone in just 45 days of its first sale. The company also claims that the Redmi Note 4 is now the fastest smartphone in the country to sell 1 million units.
The smartphone has been selling on select sale days without any registeration and the company recently announced the sale of a limited edition matte black version of the Redmi Note 4. If you remember, the company had mentioned that its first sale in January had seen 2,50,000 units being sold out in 10 minutes.
The smartphone features a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 chipset with various RAM and storage options. The 2GB RAM + 32GB storage variant for Rs 9,999, 3GB RAM + 32GB storage variant for Rs 10,999 and 4GB RAM + 64GB storage variant for Rs 12,999.
Rest of the features include a Full HD (1080×1920 pixels) IPS LCD display with a 2.5D Glass screen to protect it, a 13MP f2.0 camera with Phase Detection Autofocus (PDAF) and dual tone flash at the back, a 5MP Ccamera with an f/2.0 aperture on the front. As for the connectivity options, we get support for 4G/LTE bands, Wi-Fi 802.1.1 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth v4.1, GPS, GLONASS and Beidou. A micro-USB 2.0 OTG capable port sits at the bottom end for charging and data transfers. There’s also a handy fingerprint reader on the back for unlocking the smartphone.
The battery is a 4,100mAh unit which is small bump up from the previous one on the Redmi Note 3 from 4,050mAh, but keeping the low power CPU in mind, this should see better battery life compared to the older model.
