Xiaomi announces Mi Selfie Stick Tripod with Bluetooth in China

Xiaomi has introduced an interesting product in its hometown which is a selfie stick that can also act as a small tripod. Conveniently called the Mi Selfie Stick Tripod, it is a 2-in-1 device that is targeted for hands-free photography especially if you use a smartphone.

Launched in two colour options, black and white, it can completely fold down into a portable stick. The Mi Selfie Stick Tripod comes with a Bluetooth remote control that can be detached allowing users to click pictures from a distance. The Bluetooth remote is supported by all devices running on Android 4.3 or later and iOS 5.0 or later.

According to the company, it features an anti-skid design so that it offers a good grip. It is lightweight weighing at just 155gms and should be suitable for everday use. The body is said to be made out of aluminium alloy and is claimed to be suitable for outdoor usage, but considering its light weight, we have our doubts if it can be used in rough terrain or weather.

The mount on top can hold handsets with width 56mm to 89mm and can be rotated 360 degrees.

The Xiaomi Selfie Stick Tripod has currently launched only for the Chinese market and is said available on Mi.com for CNY 89 (Rs 900 approx).
