These days everything’s about what you have and how much of it you can flaunt. As the saying goes – If you got it… The people who can afford the gizmos in this article are not your ‘Johnny-Come-Lately’ millionaires. No siree, we’re talking about some serious Moolah here.
Having a great gizmo that can do everything is great I’m sure, but how flashy are even the Blackberrys and iPods of today? I mean as sleek and sexy as they may be, they aren’t for the elite, they’re just boring and mundane. What I’m talking about are devices that are limited editions and can’t be picked up at your local city mall (even the ones that deal only in branded products). These are the ones where I can safely use the term ‘Priceless’ and mean it literally.
It’s not enough to simply have something that’s unique and one of a kind, but now a days manufacturers are already taking their one-of-a-kind products to a whole new level to cater to ultimate exclusivity for their clientele. What they buy should be enough to set them apart from the rest and have everyone going ga-ga over it at the same time. Stretch your imagination a wee and picture, if you will, a mobile phone or music player or any electronic device for that matter with so much of ‘Bling’ power (as they call it), that you’ll need to use it only in the dark and if it’s day time only while wearing sunglasses.
Celebrities and *ho hum* leaders of industries *blah blah*, let me cut to the chase and make this clear for you – The Donald Trumps and Paris Hiltons of this world, are in constant need of something that simply exclaims their status in their respective industries. And since they must absolutely have the very best of everything, companies are going all out to show them that they deserve to be in the spotlight at all times. It’s not just what they wear or drive these days, but also their accessories, that count to enhance their overall appeal.
Let me elaborate a little and show you what I mean.

GoldVish – Worlds Most Expensive Cell Phone
A company based in Geneva that mainly deals with luxury communication goods had recently developed the world’s most exclusive cell phone collection. The company’s name is
GoldVish
. Fitting I think once you ogle the phones themselves. They’re simply spectacular.
One phone in particular called – The Piece Unique nicknamed ‘Le Million’, is designed by renowned jewelry designer Emmanuel Gueit, who has worked with jewelers like Harry Winston. This mobile phone is made of 18-carat white gold with around 1,800 diamonds totaling 120 carats. By pressing one of the precious stones on the phone’s surface you can unlock a secret compartment that can be used for carrying medicine or jewels. So it’s expensive and wee bit mysterious as well. Something I could picture Mata Hari using were she alive in this day and age.
The company says - “Our aim is to create each cell phone as a masterpiece in its own right. In addition to the ILLUSION collection, GoldVish made a limited range of exclusive cell phones, the PLATO collection. A limited edition of 100 pieces will be distributed worldwide. The PLATO collection is only available on special request. GoldVish makes cell phones of unparalleled luxury backed by the highest levels of Swiss craftsmanship and precision."
There’s really not much information in terms of what features the phone actually has, but who cares. If I had one I wouldn’t care what it had either. I think I blacked out for a bit when I saw the price of this mobile phone – $1.3 million smakersoos! Holy …. ! That’s something like Rs. 56.38646 million Rupees….. Wait I think I’m going to pass out again!

TrekStor – Worlds Most Expensive Mp3 Player
TrekStor
, a German company that designs audio and storage equipment has designed what could easily be the world’s most expensive Mp3 player. The player was designed for Alex Shnaider, owner of the Midland Formula 1 team.
This outrageously extravagant Mp3 player is cast in 18 karat gold and adorned with 63 diamonds and a chain made of aquamarine gems. The device took over 100 man hours to create by famed jewelers and designers Wenthe in Mannheim. It’s fashioned from TrekStor’s i.Beat organix player.
Specs-wise the i.Beat organix Gold edition comes equipped for using a standard USB 2.0 and a software CD which also includes the driver that’s required and Magix MP3 Maker SE. A line-in cable is provided for recording from external devices. It reads MP3, WMA, WAV, OGG, ASF formats and come with Sennheiser earphones. This edition is also equipped with preset EQs, an integrated FM radio, digital clock, alarm and a stop watch. For some reason it even includes a Text reader.
The device can be used for mass storage and is equipped with 2GB of onboard memory. The company says it’ll run for 25 hours after 3 hours of charging. By golly, it’s just packed with features and there are so many more I haven’t even mentioned. Like - you can even record music from radio among the plethora of other functions.
How much did this crazy device go for? A Whoopping US$20,000, that’s Rs. 8,67,484. So as I see it I would have got more than decent car in less than that amount. Yikes!
