New details for the Samsung Galaxy S8 have been released by The Guardian online and they reveal a number of interesting points about the upcoming flagship by Samsung. According to previous reports, the smartphone was expected to launch around at Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2017 where all the smartphone companies across the world reveal their upcoming flagships.

Later, after the release of the investigation reports of the Samsung Galaxy Note 7, it was revealed that the company has delayed the launch of its flagship to ensure that the design flaws that destroyed Note 7 don't repeat themselves in the S8.

According to the detailed report by the publication, S8 is expected to launch on 21 April for customers. This information is in line with the previous reports of the S8 launching on 29 March. The Samsung Galaxy S8 will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 and the display size will be somewhere between 5 and 6-inches. It includes the headphone jack. It is expected to come with a rear fingerprint scanner, IRIS scanner on the front and a curved display with near bezel-less 'infinity' display. In addition, the flagship will retain its microSD card slot and the storage options start from 64GB.

The smartphone will sport a camera similar to the one in S7 with incremental upgrades, USB Type-C and a new Gear VR. The S8 will also come with a new version of the Gear 360. One interesting thing to note is that Samsung is also expected to launch a dock along with a 'desktop' mode for the operating environment named 'DeX' (for Desktop eXperience).

Samsung has already hoarded all the supply for Snapdragon 835 (from the first round of the supply) to ensure that no other smartphone releases with Snapdragon 835 before Galaxy S8. Other things as reported earlier include the inclusion of heat pipes for better thermal management and a new voice assistant for Samsung devices in the S8. All the details here are not verified by Samsung and as rumours or leaks go, we should take them with a grain of salt.
