Launch date and name The Galaxy S7 will be unveiled on 21 February. Yes, that’s likely to be the name, at least if this teaser website by Samsung is to be believed. Going by the nomenclature, it makes sense as it is the seventh iteration in the flagship lineup of Galaxy.

Design

The company is expected to launch two variants, following the Galaxy S6 series. So, we can expect the Galaxy S7 and the Galaxy S7 edge.  The recent video released by the company gave us a glimpse at what the device could actually look like. There is nothing exceptional, it looks almost on the lines of the Galaxy S6 devices. Most recent  leaked images of the Galaxy S7 hint at a more rounded and pebble-like design, also seen in previously leaked renders. Another leak featuring the Samsung Galaxy S7 edge from  nowherelese.fr , showed the smartphone’s front with a curved dual edge display. The devices could also come with 2.5D glass back. The company is expected to offer the devices in black, gold and white colour variants.

Display

So far, the specifications that have been revealed by various sources online suggest a 5.1-inch display on the Galaxy S7 and a 5.5-inch one for the S7 Edge. The resolution of both the displays is expected to be a QHD array with 2560 x 1440 pixels. Samsung is also speculated to launch a third variant named Galaxy S7 edge+, but nothing concrete is out yet. Seems like all three smartphones may come with the same hardware, with the only differentiator being the display size and form factor. The standard S7 is expected to pack in a flat display, while the S7 edge and the edge+ are expected to pack in a dual-edged curved display .

Processor

Both Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge models are expected to sport the monstrous Exynos 8890 processor. Interestingly, a recently leaked image showed figures displayed on the screen which indicate a scores that was also  reported in earlier leaks. The high scores with the AnTuTu benchmarks clearly indicate that the smartphone comes equipped with an Exynos 8890, and the model number, SM-G9350, further says the same. There has been some buzz around Qualcomm variants too, which are expected to pack in the Snapdragon 820 chipset.

Camera

The camera rumours have been pretty much in line hinting at less protruding sensor compared to the current S6 range. Rumours suggest a 12MP or 13MP rear snapper sporting an aperture of f/1.7.

Battery

The battery is likely to be bumped up to 3000mAh for the standard Galaxy S7, and expect a bigger 3600mAh battery for the S7 edge model.
