Google’s in-house smartphones, the Pixel and the Pixel XL, are surprisingly good smartphones. While it has been just about four months since they launched, rumors about the next update have started popping up.

We’ve already seen some alleged renders and heard that it will be waterproof , but here is a new one. According 9to5Google, this year’s Pixel flagship will come without a headphone jack. Yup you heard it. Google might just go the Apple way. Of course this is just a rumor for now.

According to the source , the information comes from an internal Google document and without putting the source at risk, ’the language used presents the removal of the jack as a matter of fact.'

Another source claims that Google is testing a bunch of Pixel 2 units with Snapdragon 83X chips and even Intel chips. While he didn’t mention anything about the headphone jack, he did mention that waterproofing is still under consideration for the next-generation of Pixel smartphone. The camera department will once again be a point of attraction and just like the current generation of Pixel smartphones, they will have a lower megapixel count but will be focusing of extra features.

Considering Google will announce an update to the Pixel smartphones after showcasing a new Android update, there is a considerable amount of time before we actually get to see the devices. Till then stay tuned for more updates.
