People using a RuPay card, the Bhim App, UPI, the *99# NUUP system, and Aadhaar enabled payment service (AEPS) are eligible for the lucky draw schemes.

NPCI has given away Rs 54.90 crore to 3.42 lakh winners of Niti Aayog lucky draws since December 25

On 25 December 2016, Niti Aayog launched two lucky draw schemes to give a push for cashless transactions. The two schemes are Lucky Grahak Yojna and Digi-Dhan Vyapar Yojna. Cashless transactions are incentivised for merchants and consumers by the schemes.

Customers and merchants using a RuPay card, the Bhim App , UPI , the *99# NUUP  system, and Aadhaar enabled payment service (AEPS) are eligible for the lucky draw schemes. There are 1,500 daily winners for a total prize money of 1.5 crore. 14,000 weekly winners qualify for a weekly draw of 8.3 crore.

The NPCI has announced that it has given away 54.90 crore to 3.42 lakh winners so far. Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh and Karnataka are the states which have seen the most number of cashless transactions, and the most winners. Although majority of the winners are in the age group of 21 to 30 years, there are a good number of winners over the age of 50.

The winners are announced daily by NPCI officials in events held across the country. There are Digi Dhan Melas planned for 110 locations. The two schemes have a total outlay of Rs 340 crore. 300 crore of it will be given away in total, with 40 crore set aside for promoting the campaign and increasing awareness.

Lucky Grahak Yojna and Digi-Dhan Vyapar Yojna lucky draw schemes are planned to be operational till 14 April, 2017. Those who make cashless transactions through the methods under the scheme, are all eligible for a mega draw that will be held to wind up the scheme. Three mega prizes for consumers worth 1 crore, 50 lakh and 25 lakh are up for grabs. The prize money for merchants in the mega draw is 50 lakh, 25 lakh and 12 lakh.
