Say goodbye to the relatively low pricetags that OnePlus was offering on its flagship smartphones. While OnePlus did

interview with The Verge, OnePlus CEO Pete Lau has said that OnePlus “is working on both the new 5G phone and existing 4G phones in parallel and that he expects his 5G phone will likely cost $200 to $300 more.” Now we are not sure if this 5G phone is the early-2019 OnePlus flagship phone that OnePlus just announced at Maui or the annual May/June flagship phone from OnePlus, which could be called the OnePlus 7. It could also be that both these smartphones could be the same. Varying reports have said that the
**OnePlus 7** will launch in June 2019 and will be the first OnePlus device to come with 5G, while the early OnePlus device with Snapdragon 855 may not be 5G-enabled. Nothing is known for certain at the moment. In any case, we can be sure that whichever 5G phone OnePlus releases, would cost somewhere around $750 - $850 (approx Rs 53,000 - 60,000). However, as per the report, not all 5G smartphones might see such price hike. “You may see some OEMs try to monetise as much as they can their existing customer base… on the other hand, you may see folks try to gain share and use price as one of those tools,” said Qualcomm president Cristiano Amon in the interview with The Verge. He also believed that Pete Lau’s comments about price hike were a little too high.
