Moto G5 to launch in India on 4 April, will be an Amazon India exclusive

Moto recently announced the Moto G5 Plus in India. The company got two variants with 3GB and 4GB RAM in 16GB and 32GB storage options. At the time of announcement, the company confirmed that it will launch the lower tiered Moto G5 as well, but at a later stage. Today we have received the invite for the Moto G5. The company will launch the handset on 4 April in India.

The Moto G5 features a 5-inch Full HD LCD display and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 chipset inside. The company announced 2GB and 4GB RAM in 16GB and 32GB flavours with microSD card support for cards of up to 128GB.

In the camera department there is a 13MP f/2.0 unit with PDAF on the back and 5MP unit on the front that can record Full HD video. Connectivity options include NFC, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and dual SIM slots.

The Moto G5 gets a 2,800mAh battery and comes with Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box. The handset will also get the new Google Assistant after a quick update.

Considering the hardware, we are expecting the Moto G5 to launch around the Rs 10,000 price mark. The Moto G5 was launched in India at Rs 14,999 and 16,999 which has been the highest for any Moto G device.

The smartphone, just like the Moto G5 Plus, will be an Amazon India exclusive.

It will go on sale from 5 April 2017 at 12 midnight onwards. There will be special offers for Prime members.
