Motorola announced the all new Moto G5 and G5 Plus back at MWC (Mobile World Congress) rather silently as the press conference clashed with Nokia’s.
Recently we saw a Flipkart campaign teasing the India launch of the smartphones on 15 March and of course, its exclusivity on the e-commerce portal. Today Moto has sent us a press invite for the launch of the Moto G5 Plus.
The Moto G5 Plus features a 5.2-inch Full HD display and is powered by a Snapdragon 625 processor. You also get a number of storage options with 2/3/4GB of RAM and 32/64GB of storage. The phone supports microSD cards up to 256GB in size. The camera is a 12 MP f/1.7 unit with dual-LED and supports 4K recording. The front camera is a 5 MP f/2.2 unit. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n with dual-band support as well as Bluetooth 4.2 and microUSB v2.0. The battery is a 3,000 mAh unit.
The Moto G5 could see a launch at a later stage. This is the smaller counterpart featuring a Snapdragon 430 SoC with a 5-inch Full HD display. You get a choice of either 2/3GB of RAM and 32/64GB of storage, which is also expandable by 256GB via a microSD card. The cameras on this device are a 13 MP f/2.0 for the rear and a 5 MP f/2.2 for the front. You get the same connectivity options and a slightly smaller 2,800 mAh Li-Ion battery.
