More news on the web video front just after search engine major Google bought YouTube— Microsoft has decided to outsouce their video search feature in their search engine Live.com and MSN.com to Blinkx.tv. Search technology used in Blinkx–Autonomy’s Virage–indexes and processes not only simple meta data, but also advanced features such as audio and scene recognition for a more powerful search. The technology actually uses speech recognition technology to index the audio content, which then becomes searchable.
Suranga Chandratillake, co-founder and chief technology offer of Blinkx, said “We will be the single biggest video search engine on the Web."
