Kim Dotcom’s newest venture Mega has gone smart. You will now be able to access the cloud storage service on your Android devices and an iOS and Windows app is already in the works.
While Mega is making its foray on to Android for the very first time, the app doesn’t seem so new. The changelog shows that Dotcom has acquired a third-party client to rework it and launch it as the official app for Mega. The app statistics show that it has already been downloaded and installed between 100,000-500,000 times and has reviews that run all the way back to February.
Now on Android
The official Android app for Mega will let you access your cloud storage account, let you upload, download and export files. It will also let you create, rename and move files and folders – pretty much all the features that you expect from a smartphone app of a cloud storage service.
Mega for Android will also allow camera sync, using which you can choose to upload all the pictures you click from your phone to the cloud service automatically. Most of these features were already a part of the third-party app before Mega acquired it but the revamp has brought along a new user interface, several bug fixes and a change in thumbnails.
The company says that its iOS and Windows sync apps are currently in the final stages of development and will be out soon. Mega has also promised to take in user feedback to add newer features to the Android app. You can download Mega for Android from the Google Play Store here.
