LG Electronics has launched the latest smartphone from the K series, LG K10 2017. The most touted feature of the smartphone is the built in ‘panic button’ as mandated by Government of India. The official price for LG K10 has been listed as Rs 15,000 on LG website while other reports have suggested that the smartphone will go on sale for Rs 13,990. LG is the first company in the market to launch the smartphone with panic button implementation, redirecting the calls to ‘112’ for all emergency calls.
Ravi Shankar Prasad, Union Minister for Communications and IT launched the smartphone adding, “We are consistently working on initiatives to create a safe and conducive environment for citizens of the country through technological excellence. The panic button, 112, is a great initiative and we must applaud efforts of LG Electronics who is developing technology for the betterment of the society.”
LG K10 2017 is packed with an Octa-core processor clocked at 1.5GHz with 2GB RAM and 16GB internal storage. The storage can be expanded up to 2TB to store additional data in the smartphone. K10 sports a 5.3-inch HD screen with an effective resolution of 1280x720 with 277ppi pixel density. The smartphone packs a 13MP camera sensor on the back and a 5MP camera sensor on the front for selfies. K10 is powered by a removable 2,800mAh battery and comes equipped with 112 panic button implementation, fingerprint scanner and OTG support.
The smartphone added will run Android Nougat 7.0 out of the box and LG has packed the smartphone with Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n Bluetooth v4.2, USB 2.0, NFC and 4G LTE enabled SIM slot in terms of connectivity options.
